Scope of work and competencies of the Committee for Oversight of Public Finances are set by the Rules of Procedure of the Assembly, as follows:
- Supervision of the legality of public money expenditures based on audited annual and periodic reports and statements, as well as audit reports of the National Audit Office;
- Supervision of audit reports of the National Audit Office of budget organizations and public enterprises;
- Supervision of performance reports, drafted by the National Audit Office;
- Supervision of audited reports and performance of financial expenditures drafted by oversight institutions of public funds, public agencies, public enterprises, and public institutions financed from the budget of the Republic of Kosovo;
- Review of the Draft Laws, which by decision of the Assembly were transferred to the committee;
- Oversight of the implementation of laws from the scope of the committee;
- Public expenditures supervision, through reports of budget agencies, upon special request of the committee;
- Undertaking procedures for the election of external auditors, who will audit the AFS of the National Audit Office;
- Review of the annual performance report and the audited report for annual financial statements of the National Audit Office;
- Reviewing the needs of the National Audit Office for fulfilling the tasks defined by law and making recommendations to the Committee on Budget and Transfers;
- The Committee initiates procedures for election of auditors, who will audit the annual financial reports and those responsible for the financial declaration of the political entities campaign;
- Organizes public hearings, in accordance with Article 66 of the Rules of Procedure of the Assembly;
Reviewing other issues, set forth in this Rules of Procedure of the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo and issues which by a special decision of the Assembly, are transferred to this committee.
