The President of the Assembly of Kosovo, Nexhat Daci, welcomed today the Head of the OSCE in Kosovo, Ambassador Werner Wnendt. They discussed the future work of the Assembly of Kosovo, relations between the government and the opposition in the Assembly and relationships with the OSCE.
Daci has appreciated the cooperation of the Assembly with OSCE, especially showed up the good work of the Department for Democratization.
In this meeting the mutual will for a healthy partnership between the Assembly and the OSCE was affirmed, in helping to avoid the weakness, by all means avoiding eventual dictates.
The head of OSCE in Kosovo, Werner Wnendt, has appreciated the debate as very fruitful and democratic in the last plenary for reformation of local power and highlighted the need to give the opposition more space for parliamentary initiatives. He emphasized the OSCE™s continuing to monitor the Assembly of Kosovo.
The President of the Assembly said to the guest that none of the opposition™s projects were rejected for debate in the Assembly. He appreciated the work of the opposition deputies in parliamentary committees of the Assembly as very diligent and non-contentious.
In the meeting regional and European cooperation was also discussed. Interlocutors agreed that the Contact Group and UN Security Council have done a very good evaluation of Kosovo and its institution™s work, emphasizing the duties for the near future, which they will successfully pass together.
